Economy of the USA
The United States of America is a highly developed industrialized country. Shipbuilding, electronics, automobile industry, aircraft industry, space research are highly developed in the States.
The United States has a lot of mineral deposits or resources such as coal, gold, silver, copper, lead and zink. The south, especially Texas is rich in oil. The coalfields of Pennsylvania are rich in coal.
Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska is the richest farming region of America and it is known as the Corn Belt. The land is fertile and well watered. They grow mostly corn and wheat there. Much livestock is also raised here.
There is a lot of fruit raising area. For example, California oranges, grapefruit, lemons, as well as other fruits, wines and vegetables are shipped all over the States and to other parts of the world. The most important crops grown in the States are also tobacco, soybeans, peanuts, grapes and many others.

The types of account
An account is the basic storage unit for data in accounting. There are different types of accounts. The most commonly used ones are as follows: Asset Accounts, Liabilities Accounts and Owner’s Equity Accounts. In a manual accounting system each account is kept on a separate page or card. These pages or cards are placed together in a book or a file. This book or file, which contains all groups of the company’s accounts, is called a ledger. In a computer system, which most companies have today, the accounts are maintained on magnetic tapes or discs. However, as a matter of convenience, the accountant still refers to the group of company accounts as the ledger. To find an account in the ledger easily and identify accounts when working with accounting records, accounts are numbered. A list of these accounts is usually called a chart of accounts.

Money
Money is any item that is widely accepted as payment for product. People use money almost every day. The familiar paper bills and metal coins are only two of the forms money can take. In the past, many things served as money – beads, shells, dog’s teeth, cattle, stones, tobacco, fishhooks, and even slaves. Precious metals, especially gold and silver, have been a favorite form of money. Most of the items used as money, however, have had value only because people agreed that they could be exchanged for goods and services.
In most modern economies money serves several functions. As a means of exchange money is used to trade for goods and services. Less complex societies often do not use money at all. They simply barter, or trade, one product for another. The more complex a country‘s economy, the harder it is to use a system of trading one good for another.

Finance
One of the primary considerations when going into business is money. Without sufficient funds a company cannot begin operations. The money needed to start and continue operating a business is known as capital. A new business needs capital not only for ongoing expenses but also for purchasing necessary assets. These assets – inventories, equipment, buildings, and property – represent an investment of capital in the new business. How this new company obtains and uses money will determine its success. The process of managing this capital is known as financial management. In general, finance is securing and utilizing capital to start up, operate, and expand a company. In obtaining and using this capital, the decisions made by managers affect the overall success of a company.

Stocks and markets
Stock Markets are the means through which securities are bought and sold. The origin of stock markets goes back to medieval Italy. During the 17th and 18th centuries Amsterdam was the principal centre for securities trading in the world. The appearance of formal stock markets and professional intermediation resulted from the supply of, demand for and turnover in transferable securities. The 19th century saw a great expansion in issues of transferable securities.
The popularity of transferable instruments as a means of finance continued to grow and at the beginning of the 20th century there was an increasing demand for the facilities provided by stock exchanges, with both new ones appearing around the world and old ones becoming larger, more organized and increasingly sophisticated.

Accounting
What is accounting? The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants has defined accounting as follows:
Accounting is the art of recording, classifying and summarizing, in a significant manner and in terms of money, transactions and events which are, in part at least, of a financial character, and interpreting the results thereof.
It is significant to note that accounting is defined, as an art rather than a science. This, of course, does not mean that accounting does not strive for accuracy in reporting. It merely means that accounting is flexible in the sense that procedures may change to meet changing conditions. Accountants are constantly striving to establish principles and guides to their practice. A substantial body of accounting theory has evolved.
